God, I will thank you

1.  God, I will thank you

     also for night times,

     for all the darkness,

     for all the hard things

     when all force is gone.

 2.  ‘Cause you have taught me:

     then you are near me,

     then I am resting

     safe and secure there

     in your gentle hand.

 3.  Through all the blackness

     your voice will reach me,

     soft, warm and peaceful:

     a silent whisper

     bringing me your calm.

 4.  And I have seen it:

     seen stars be born there,

     slowly and gently

     kindle in darkness,

     through your fingertips.

 5.  So I will thank you

     for your attention,

     for your affection,

     thank you for showing

     your deep love for me.
