With this selection
of photos I wish to show a transparence, a “radiance” in the middle of
common things, in landscapes and details; an opening towards the transcendent.
Through everything
which meets us in the visible and obvious we may be reminded of an invisible
reality.
The motifs and texts
are meant to make some of the ways in which Christ may meet us today, more clear.
They’re put in the
shape of a cross, not close together, but with a space between each picture,
which hints that also the cross is lit up: it opens up and lets the light of
resurrection slip through, the presence of Christ.
It becomes, like an
icon, a window towards heaven.
Christ, you are…
1
…radiant and glowing, like sunflowers in the late summer
wind…
2
…a
shining light of glory which breaks through from the darkness…
3
…unexpectedly colourful and forceful, an explosion of joy…
4
…the
tender but strong life which again and again conquers death…
5
…the
mild warmth which melts the frozen and stiffened…
6
…still
and clear as an evening lake – immensely peaceful and calm…
7
…the
one who lovingly leads us on unknown ways…
8
…mysterious, hidden, incomprehensible and attractive…
9
…austere, plain, unsubduable in your demand for truth…
10
…wild and stormy, a fresh
and renewing breeze…
